※お着替えいただく場所はございませんが、服装が汚れた場合は小型テントの設営いたします。

■Bamboo shoots digging experience
– Participate in Satoyama management to preserve Kyoto’s nature! – Experience digging bamboo shoots in the bamboo forest near Jikishi-an, Kyoto,
and enjoy grilled freshly dug bamboo shoots. This activity will help conserve
the bamboo forest through this activity.
Plan details Event dates: 10 – 24 April 2025
Time: Any time between 9:30am and 12:00pm at customer’s convenience
Duration: approx. 1 hour
Fee: 6,600 yen per person (incl. tax) / free of charge for six years old and under.
*Guided tours in Japanese or English
Please apply at the front desk by 5pm the day before your visit.
You will receive a ticket.
Itinerary: meeting and disbanding
Kyoto City Bus No. 91 at Shijo-Karasuma bus stop ➡ (approx. 50 mins) –
get off at ‘Daikakuji’ bus stop （Meeting Point）➡ (15 mins walk) –
Bamboo forest near ‘Jikishi-an’.
Meeting point – Kyoto City Bus stop “Daikakuji” (大覚寺)
* Car pick-up is also available (up to 3 persons) from the Daikakuji bus stop to the site.
* If you would like to be picked up from ‘Daikakuji’ bus stop by car,
please inform the hotel staff at the time of booking.
Minimum number of participants: One person.
What to bring and wear:
Ticket – Please hand in your ticket to the local staff on the day of the tour.
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Comfortable shoes (preferably high-cut shoes are recommended)
. Beverages.
*There is no place to change clothes, but if your clothes get dirty,
the local staff will set up a small tent for you.
*As there are no bathrooms on site, please use tourist restrooms
attached to the ‘Daikakuji’ bus stop.
*This activity will be cancelled if probability of rain
exceeds 50% between 9am and 1pm on the day.
*Bamboo shoots can be taken home in quantities of up to
1 kg per group, although this may vary depending on the amount harvested.
